CUTC is pleased to present a new workshop for kids ages 8-18. The Audition Preparation Workshop–scheduled for Saturday, April 10–gives kids a masterclass-style lesson in what to expect when auditioning for a show. CUTC drama, music, and dance coaches will each work with small groups of participants to help them prepare for the audition experience and help overcome the anxiety many kids feel when trying out for a show.
Two workshops are scheduled for the day; the morning workshop is for younger students (ages 8-12) and runs from 8:00-11:30 AM, while the afternoon workshop is for older students (ages 13-18) and runs from 1:00-4:30 PM. The cost for either workshop is $50.
For more information or to receive registration materials, you may call or visit the CUTC office (217-344-3884) or email the Education Coordinator at education@cutc.org.

Our new Readers’ Theatre class has gotten off to an enjoyable start! Instructor Lisa Cerezo initially chose stories with which the students were familiar, such as “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Where The Wild Things Are”. Once the students were more familiar with each other and with the RT concept, they moved on to more unusual works like “Rumpelstiltskin: Private Eye” and “The Knight, The Page, and The Squire”, an original work written by one of the students!
The next Readers’ Theatre session begins the week of April 12. For more information or to sign up for a class, please contact the CUTC office at 217-344-3884 or email the Education Coordinator at education@cutc.org.
